Polymers, coagents, flame retardants, and bonding solutions for the cables, sensors, and connectors that power critical systems.
AboutÂ
ARP Materials supplies wire and cable materials and electronics bonding solutions to manufacturers across North America. Our customers make wire and cable, housings and connectors, sensors, transducers, and drilling components.
These products carry power and signals where failure isn’t an option. They run through aircraft, ships, power plants, and oil fields. And they face heat, flame, oil, and constant vibration along the way.
When a cable jacket cracks or a sensor bond lets go, systems go down. In aerospace, defense, and nuclear applications, the stakes are even higher. That’s why consistent wire and cable materials matter from the very first batch.
Our customers serve a wide range of demanding end markets. They supply aerospace, defense, marine, nuclear, oil and gas, automotive, and industrial customers. Many must meet strict flame, smoke, and qualification standards, and each program has its own requirements for performance and documentation.
Applications Supported
Wire and Cable Jacketing
Cable jackets must resist heat, oil, ozone, and abrasion for decades. For many jackets, chlorinated polyethylene (CPE) is the go-to polymer. It’s tough, and its chlorine content adds natural flame resistance.
For specialty cables, ARP also supplies chlorosulfonated polyethylene (CSM), EPDM, and nitrile rubber (NBR).
Cable Crosslinking and Curing
Crosslinked compounds hold up better under heat and electrical stress. To build that strength, ARP supplies triallyl isocyanurate (TAIC) and triallyl cyanurate (TAC) coagents. Both boost crosslink density in peroxide and radiation-cured systems. We also offer curing agents to complete the cure package.
Flame-Retardant Cable Compounds
Many cables must pass strict flame and smoke tests. ARP supplies antimony trioxide (ATO) and other flame retardants for halogenated compounds. Where you need reinforcement, carbon black and high styrene resins (HSR) round out the formula.
PVC Wire and Cable Compounds
PVC is still a common choice for building wire and appliance cable. For these compounds, ARP offers PVC additives and thermal stabilizers. As a result, the polymer stays protected during processing and in service.
Housings and Connectors
Connectors and housings need tight seals and reliable bonds. For molded seals and boots, ARP supplies EPDM and curing agents. In addition, we offer adhesives and bonding solutions for assembled parts.
Sensors, Transducers, and Microwave Assemblies
Sensors and transducers need bonds that stay stable through heat, moisture, and vibration. ARP supplies adhesives and bonding solutions for these parts, including microwave assemblies. Our customers use them in aerospace, defense, marine, and nuclear programs.
Drilling Stators and Oilfield Seals
Downhole parts face extreme heat, pressure, and oil. For drilling stators, seals, and gaskets, ARP supplies nitrile rubber (NBR), carbon black, and compounding chemicals.
Vibration Isolators
Defense electronics need protection from shock and vibration. That’s why ARP supplies rubber-to-metal adhesives for bonded vibration isolators.
